Pan Pen and Discovery Dock East residents come to view final plans for South Quay Plaza 4
Residents of both Pan Peninsula and Discovery Dock East were invited to attend a post-submission public exhibition to view plans for South Quay Plaza 4 (SQP4).
SQP4 will bring new homes and jobs to the local area, and allow for the delivery of an enhanced and enlarged public realm strategy, complementing the consented scheme for SQP1 – 3+.
Members of the project team were on hand to talk residents, who live closest to the site, through the scheme and answer questions raised. A number of attendees welcomed the high quality design of the building, which has been developed by world-class architecture practice, Foster and Partners, and the thoughtful public realm strategy, which has been developed by HTA Design.
Over 2.6 acres of public realm will be delivered as part of the redevelopment of the whole South Quay Plaza estate, which will be open to residents and the existing local community. The plans for SQP4 will see additional retail space delivered as well, with the hope of attracting high quality retailers and restaurants to the area. This was warmly welcomed by attendees at the exhibition.
The scheme will be considered by Tower Hamlets Strategic Development Committee this spring, after over a year's worth of consultation.
